GYM MEMBER OF THE MONTH: Claire Desmond

How long have you been a member of Avenue Tennis? 
I have been a member since 2018. I struggled to get back to the gym after the various lockdowns, but I decided to come back in January this year.

Tell us about your experience with your Personal Trainer, Brook Nelson and your Wellness journey so far.
Brook took my stats in January, and I gave him my goals of what I wanted to achieve, mainly to feel more body confident as I was going to Dubai in March. Brook convinced me to book Personal Training sessions with him, and they have surpassed my expectations. I have had PT sessions in the past, but Brook pushes me to do things I have never done before; deadlifting, for example. I never thought I would be able to do that, and we are slowly increasing the weight week on week. 

We have the same routine at the start of each session to measure my progress, and then Brook will mix it up; he usually tells me with a smile he’s got something good planned, and it’s usually something he’s tried out himself. When we took my stats just before Dubai, I was shocked at how much my body had changed in just 6 weeks.

What is your next step here at Avenue Tennis?
To keep going, I want to keep pushing my limits to see what I can achieve. Brook is helping me become stronger not just in body but also in mind.

Claire has managed to achieve her fitness goals by being consistent with her training and her diet; weeks of hard work are beginning to pay off as her results are very noticeable both physically and mentally. 

I have awarded Claire member of the month due to her can-do attitude and positive outlook in each session I have delivered. Claire never turns down a challenge and is always willing to push herself to the limit. 

My next step with Claire is to continue her progression and gradually increase the intensity of our sessions to gain even better results!
