We are delighted to welcome Danny Sapsford and Luke Milligan to our club on Sunday 4th March 2018.

Join the Davis Cup pros for a selection of doubles tactics masterclasses, technical clinics or high-intensity basket drills. Put what you’ve learnt into practice during our carefully constructed matchplay scenarios, then compare the speed of your serve to the top pros in our fastest serve competition. Finally, relax and enjoy a fun doubles exhibition where the pros hope to roll back the years with some great rallies and trick shots galore!

Adults clinics are based on ability, and these are all run by ex-Great British Davis Cup player's Danny Sapsford and Luke Milligan.

Danny Sapsford
Danny played on the ATP Tour from 1987-1999, reaching a career-high ATP singles ranking of 170 and 83 in doubles. He represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup from 1990-95. Danny competed in all 4 Grand Slams with his best performance coming at Wimbledon ‘99 where he made the 3rd Round before losing to eventual champion, Pete Sampras. In 1998, Danny became the Men’s National Singles Champion, and he also won the Doubles Event on three separate occasions. Wins during his career include Henman, Rusedski, Korda, Gilbert and Kuerten. After retiring Danny became an LTA National coach, overseeing a squad of boys who won European singles and doubles titles, Grand Slam and ITF World Doubles titles, and junior/senior National singles titles. He founded the charity, Bright Ideas for Tennis in 2013.

Luke Milligan
Luke reached the 3rd round of Wimbledon in 1996 where he lost to Tim Henman. He played Davis Cup in the same year away vs Ghana. Since retiring, Luke worked for seven years as a National Coach at the LTA, working with many of the up and coming professionals on Tour including Laura Robson and Johanna Konta. Luke currently resides and works in Eastbourne.

Places on the Coaching Clinic sessions are limited so do book early and pay via reception or call 01634 386188 (£5 per person). Members who are not successful in gaining a place are more than welcome to come along and watch the clinics and matches.

Bright Ideas for Tennis is a registered charity, all funds raised from the day remain with the club and are used to provide free coaching for the club and community.
