Cardio vs Strength Training

When it comes to both cardio and strength training, each training principle is equally as important for different reasons. These principles can compliment each other well, and come together to create a harmonious workout.

Cardio:

Cardiovascular training, also known as aerobic or endurance exercise, is physical conditioning that exercises the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels. It's helpful to maintain a good level of cardiovascular fitness for overal health alone. Being generally fit can help to lower your cholesterol, regulate your blood pressure and maintain steady levels of insulin.

In the dedicated cardio area of our gym, you'll find various pieces of equipment to assist your training. From treadmills to cross trainers and bikes, you can change up your workout each time!

Strength:

Strength training, also known as resistance training, involves performing physical exercises designed to improve muscle strength and endurance. It can be done using various tools such as body weight, dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, resistance bands, or exercise machines.

Increasing your strength will enable everyday tasks such as moving heavier objects to be performed with ease, and even provides many health benefits such as increased bone density, which can help offset osteoporosis.

We have various equipment options to aid your strength focused workout, including free weights and machines.
