Fitness tips to get you started

Regular exercise has been shown to improve a person’s ability to regulate the immune system, which is essential for avoiding the severe symptoms of COVID-19. Check out our exercise tips to get you started after lockdown and to keep you motivated, it's important to remember your goals and that changes take time, so do not get disheartened and stay on track.

Tip #1. If time is a problem for you and you are struggling to get your workout in, try implementing HIIT into your training program. You can include a mixture of high-intensity cardio, bodyweight and high repetition resistance training into these sessions.

Tip #2.  Partner up!  Everyone has those days where it's a struggle to motivate yourself, have you thought of a training partner? This can not just help with motivation, but also the accountability of your training.

Tip #3.  Have a plan!  Have you ever gone to the gym, and your mind goes blank? Your body is ready for one hell of a workout, but mentally you don’t know where to start, and your workout becomes a struggle. Try pre-planning your workouts, writing them down and taking them with you. Then you know exactly what you are going to do for the entire session.

Tip #4. Record your results!  It is an essential part of your progression, to record your results (good or bad) only when you have the information, can you know the progress. Your results could even indicate overtraining or fatigue.
