Tennis For Kids

Head of Tennis; Tony Cherry met Leon Smith, Annabel Croft and Alfie Hewitt, Bronze medalist at Rio Olympics wheelchair tennis last week at the National Tennis Centre, Tennis for Kids training course. Leon Smith spoke to Tony about the preparation needed for the Davis Cup match against France on April 7th this year in Rouen France.

Leon mentioned Andy Murray always turns out for Great Britain because he loves the Team ethos and the fun and camaraderie he experiences when they prepare for International ties.  This year's Davis Cup could be a very tough test as it’s on a clay court which could favour the French team which includes Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet and Lucas Pouille

Artificial Clay is also used at Avenue Tennis to help our juniors acclimatise to this surface when progressing through the ranks.  Juniors (11years+) will have the opportunity to try the clay courts out for themselves during our Easter Camps between 3rd - 14th April 2017.
